Hi all,
I had my first round of Fec last Monday which unfortunately coincided with my period starting ?. I have now bled quite heavily (and I have heavy periods at the best of times) for 4 days and it doesn’t seem to be easing up. Has anyone else suffered with this? I’m worried my bloods are going to be lower than they should and it will hinder my next cycle. I haven’t had too many other side effects apart from some pulpitations and red face (which is on another post) and the feeling sick /weak. I was hoping that they would stop or at least be lighter. I’m not sure I can deal with this each cycle as it looks like they will pretty much clash each time.

Hi Mangomum
I have no experience of this but feel a bit concerned for you, have you phoned your emergency number just to run it past them, it may or may not be normal but at least they would be able to advise you either way. It would not be inconveniencing them, that is what they are there for - I was told to contact them if anything was different and that there is no such thing as a daft question.

Hi there,
My first cycle of chemo was mid-period. Then nothing until the end of week one of cycle 2. And it was the period from hell! When I mentioned it to my oncologist, he was very surprised but didn’t seem particularly concerned… We shall just have to see.
Hope you’re sorted by now.
