Hello, Anyone from North East about?

Hi lulu

Just read your post on side effects. My dad has parkinsons disease and on one of his tablets it says

If you experience any of these side effects please report them to your doctor…,… Coma, death.

Bit tricky to report those se’s

Debx

Don’t worry Deb. You’ll lose it no time!
I seem to be piling it on too, if it’s any consolation. Every time I get weighed at the pre chemo session I have put a couple of pounds on. Surely the scales are wrong? :-0
I can’t really say my diet has drastically changed (laughing cows excluded) so WHY? Is it the steroids? Do they slow down your metabolism? When I floated this question on my September chemo thread (are ladies putting on or losing weight?) the majority seem to be losing it, mind! ARGH!!! Mind you, in a way it’s best to put on a bit than losing too much. I need all the fat I can get to counteract vile chemo!
Feeling a bit sickly today but that’s always the case.
I will take it easy today and no doubt surf the web for most of the day. Ahhhh!
Cazza is coming round for a cuppa this afternoon so that should be nice!

Happy, lazy days!

Oh…and about the paranoia about aches and pains? I TOTALLY relate to that. When I was in Mallorca I had this rather intense pain in my side just under where I had my op. Of course I convinced that the cancer had spread to my rib cage, albeit it felt very much like a muscular type of pain.
Sure enough it has gone now. I must have pulled a muscle somehow without realizing it. But the thought of the cancer having spread/returned…etc. it’s always at the back of my mind too.

Perhaps we should go for group therapy sessions together? Cheaper!

Have a good day girls!

P.S. The comments on side effects Deb commented on are on the September chemo thread…Coma and death? Oh dear!!

Well done Wendy - the only way is up now. Marli xx

Hi Girls
Wendy sorry to hear about the lump, so pleased it was nothing. Well done for reaching the end.
Had my 3 x EC on Monday went not to bad , changed my sickness meds which seem not to bad. Today could not get out of bed this morning felt like I just wanted to sleep all day. Now my whole body hurts when you touch it. Did go for a walk this afternoon ( always like to get some fresh air) went down to village and thought I was not going to make it home. This is the worst I have ever felt.
Looking forward to seeing you all again.
Hope your all doing well.
M xxxx

Margaret my 3rd one was my worst aswell i dont know if its a bit of a build up or what but i really wasnt looking forward to no 4 but i was fine again so hopefully its just the one wobbly one for you too . take care
Wendy well done girl for finishing its such a great feeling you feel like skipping out and doing cartwheels down the corridor if it wasnt that my wig might come off i think i would have done xx Julie

CONGRATS Wendy - well done. Sorry u found lump and couldn’t say. I know how you felt - I found lump on good boob after 1st chemo. Was given scan and told it was just swollen gland. Apparently our glands will react to chemo. Also get pain in wound sight and randomly all over body. Again was told it was to be expected. I am heavier than ever but not caring. Looking forward to having massice, tasty lunch on 15th. Can u come Wendy? Hope so! So glad you can come Marli. It will be great to meet you. Have 2nd tax tomorrow. I hate the flushes too Deb. Anyway only one more after this. Good luck to everyone. Let’s discuss book when we meet! Love Cx

Cazza - good luck for tomorrow. After this round just one to go (I know that is easy said).Hope the se’s are kind.
Look forward to seeing you all on the 15th. Take care of yourselves. Marli x

Hi all

Cazza, just in case you check in, my first tax was by far the worst, so hoping this one is a bit easier for you. Debx

Avoiding the wibble wobble after my third EC so far. Fingers crossed.
Margaret, sorry you are feeling such a wash out. You are just slightly ahead of me now, aren’t you? I used to be a couple of weeks behind but now we seem to be getting our chemo on the same week.
Cazza, good luck with the dreaded TAX today. You CAN do it!!! Approaching the finishing line soon.

Now ladies, to some unladylike confessions: my intestines are playing up BIG TIME these days. I am always really constipated after my chemo and have to take all sorts to kick my lazy intestines into touch. I don’t know if it’s the side effect of the steroids, antisickness drugs or Lactulose plus Senokot but I’m producing enough wind to power a turbine these days! I’ll soon be linked to the electricity national grid…ha ha

Very embarassing and not how a respectable, chic lady should behave.

Did any of you suffer the same problem?? OH is having a right laugh and teasing me something rotten at the moment. The evil so and so.

Have a good day girls and can’t wait to see you all on 15th.

Oh lulu there is a fabulous old thread on here called wind or something about chemo farts. They are notorious. I will see if I can find it for you. It is sooooo funny. Dx

You are a star Deb!! I thought I was the only one. Do send me the link if you find it…
Lulu XX

Have bumped… It’s v funny

Thanks Deb! Will go and check it out straightaway. Even before getting washed and dressed (which is happening later and later every day! Really turning into a slut now. Unwashed, undressed, pumping for England…and Italy put together …ARGH…).

Deb, you made my day by alerting me to that wind thread. It was absolutely hilarious! I can’t remember the last time I laughed like this! Tears trickling down my face.
Thank you so much… It’s good to know it’s a well known side effect. I thought I had turned into a bloke, all of a sudden!
