Hello, newbie :)

Hi ladies, I stumbled across this forum whilst Googling symptoms. I found a small lump about the size of a bean near the crease of my right armpit about a week ago. I made an appt straight away and I’ve just got back from the gp now. Had a breast exam and the doc could feel the lump which is marginally smaller now (about the size of a tic tac) although that might be my imagination or wishful thinking. She’s told me to go back in two weeks and she will decide then to refer me or not.
So I’ve come away having to wait another two weeks and I’m driving myself crazy. I turned 40 on Easter Sunday and I have adaughter who will be 9 in May.
My grandmother died from BC when I was three years old. She was only 49. My father in law passed away from pancreatic cancer a couple of weeks ago and the funeral was last week. It was an open casket in the house overnight so that has affected me a little bit and I think I just have these things on my mind.
Not sure hownim going to get through the next two weeks. Just wanted to share. Thank you for reading.

Ah bless you , hopefully this lump will be a scare and not BC. However I know whatever we say you will be worried sick as we all have been in the Waiting Room and know how awful it is waiting for results. I would not wait the full 2 weeks if I was you. I would ring the doctors surgery tomorrow and ask to see the GP next week. It can be connected with your monthly cycle so that is maybe why the GP wanted you to wait longer, but always go with your instinct.
Keep posting on here , it will help you to feel more in control. Love and hugs Tracy xxx

Thanks Tracy. I just finished my period and she said its a good time to check. I think she suggested waiting because she wants to see if it gets any smaller, as I said I thought it had reduced a bit since I found it. I have health anxiety anyway and this doesn’t help.

Gp also said that two weeks is ‘nothing in the grand scheme of things’. Not sure if that’s reassuring or not.
