hello - newly diagnosed

hello - newly diagnosed Hi girls

I was diagnosed with BC on 2nd April 2007. I have had the tumour removed on 19th April along with five ly. nodes (3 of which were cancerous) - grade 2. I have recovered well from the op and I am just waiting for an appointment to see the oncologist. I will be having chemo, radiotherapy and am waiting for results to see if I will also be getting herceptin. The diagnosis came as a huge shock but I am very positive and have the support of my family and friends. I have found this website a great help, I have ordered myself a couple of bandanas already and am just waiting to begin my treatment. When reading about other womens’ experiences, I realise that I am very fortunate as things could have been worse.

Bit of good news!! Hi everyone,

I had my first bit of good news today when my breast care nurse Donna phoned me and told me the results of the biopsy they did on a lump in my right breast and my bone scan were both clear, i have never felt such a burden off my shoulders. I just gotta wait for my ct scan on the 30th may now and hopefully fingers crossed that will b clear too.

Hi Diane and Jenny,

I long for the day when there are no more posts on ‘Newly Diagnosed With Breast Cancer’. It’s very sad. But you’re here, so welcome to you both. Hope you find the support you need!

Diane - glad you’re positive about your diagnosis. I’ve always been a rather ‘glass half empty’ kind of person, but when I found out I had cancer, I was remarkably positive too. I kept waiting for the bomb to hit, but I’m still doing well. Luckily I’ve not needed rads or chemo, ‘just’ Tamoxifen, so that helps ( a lot). Support of family and friends is everything.

Wish you both well, and look forward to sharing your journey with you.

love,
Jacki xx

thanks Jacki for your good wishes. Ive been using the internet a long time now but have never really used chat forums, and I am so glad I have found this one. It really helps writing it all down and sharing it with others who understand what you are going through.
