Hi everyone,

I am new to forums but I have been reading different posts and the support is absolutely wonderful and I would like to join in.

I have been really lucky to have had support from neighbours and friends but it’'s not the same as if you’ve been there too.

I have been through chemo and surgery (done just over three weeks ago) so still earlyish days…but everyday I wake up is a good one!

Hi Dawnflower - and welcome to the forum no-one really wants to join! You are right though, the support network here is great - I for one would have been lost without it.

I had surgery (right mastectomy & node clearance) last November - have just finished 4 x chemo, 20 rads, 3 x chemo and am about to start a year of herceptin. Every stage of the way I have received advice & support, sometimes just an ear (or 2 or 30!) while I rant about things lol from the lovely people on here. You are right when you say the support from family and friends is not the same - nice but definitely not the same!

The people on here truly understand what you are going through.

Do you have any further treatment to come? I’m so glad you are waking up to good days - makes such a difference!

Hi Dawnflower, sorry you have had to join the club but welcome. The great thing I’ve found about this site is when you feel you need someone or an answer to a question there’s always someone there for you. I also use the search option if I have a question and is not topical at the time, I’ve found past threads hold a wealth of information too.
Glad you have your family and friends, I too am fortunate to have good support outside this site but as Margaret said it’s nice but different.

Hi to you both and thanks for the welcome.

I had a bilateral with lymph clearance on one side and have three weeks of radz in the near future, I just hope everything willl have settled down before it starts.

I’m glad chemo is well behind me but I’m still reminded of it as my nails are horrendous, but that’s all.
