Hi Jal
My periods stopped altogether once I had about 3 lots of chemo - and I aint had one since - thats about 24 weeks now - they could still come back apparently - but I aint bothered (I am 39). I used tampons throughout and didnt have a problem.
Take care
Fiona

Hiya Jal
I had my last period after my 3rd Epi and they haven’t come back 11 months later! Just had a blood test which confirms that I am now in the menopause (happy days). They did tell me that the nearer you are to the menopause, the less likely your periods will return - I was 46 at the time. I had 4 periods in total whilst on chemo and, like Fiona, used tampons with no problems.

Hi Jal,
Periods either are very irregular during chemo or stop altogether. I had one every 2 weeks from starting FAC until just after 5th one when they stopped. I was a bit worried in fact and took 2 pregnancy tests before my Rads were due to start to make sure. I,m on tamoxifen now and I am told that I may only have a couple of periods a year.
I would love to be told that I was totally infertile but nobody will give me that assurance so In the mean time my husband is booked in for a vasectomy end of April. Awww poor thing.
Best wishes to you all love Andrea xx
hi yes thanks for replies its a period that is very light but still cramps etc. Andrea your poor husband. i remember mine going it was the best Christmas pressy i ever had. at our surgery they did ops wed night and all men would be their with tracky bottoms on so knew what they were having done. the best thing one year i took a neighbours husband as she couldn’t drive just imagine looks i got when i had only been there months before with my own hubby… i am 50 this year and cant wait to stop periods. i had no real problems its just holidays etc. i book in advance and even a day or two in dates each months makes a difference. anyway good luck with the op. Julie
I had a terrible period between 1st and 2nd chemo, went for a night out and had to rush home in an emergency taxi for a hose-down an hour later. The 2nd chemo made it stop instantly, I dont know what the next one will bring! I am 47, btw.

Hi
I had a period after my 1st EC and none since, its my 4th on Thurs. I was told that chemo may stop my periods and put me through the change, I am 50 and the thought of no periods sounds wonderful to me

I do like your Mums saying.
I had my final period ever during my first Chemo. I was not quite 48 and that was over 3 years ago.Not one sign ever since. I am very happy about this . Like Julie, I didnt have any problems as such but was just glad to see the back of them.
At least one good outcome (besides the obvious) of the dreaded chemo.
Best of luck to all just starting on the journey
