Oh I don’t blame you for wanting to go mad…I have had 5 (5th last tuesday) with 1 more to and in this heat it is really hard…so I really feel for you.

Sending you lots of hugs and here’s hoping the weather cools for you so that you can cope!

Muffet

I really dont blame you for wanting to scream. When I had my last tax i remember thinking there is no way I could have another so I have much respect for you and what you are going through.

Try e-cmf then! 12 bloody chemo sessions in all! Lol!

That sounds heartless and it doesn’t mean to be (please note the ‘lol’!)

I’ve just posted on another thread that I’m just now over half way through chemo, and I’m coming to the end of my tether. Maybe around about the 6 session, you really feel like you want it to stop.

I feel nauseated just walking into the chemo room now.

Although just reading your post again, do you have rads in the middle of chemo in Spain? Must be worse actually going back to having chemo than getting it all done in one go.

Hi Muffett,

Slightly behind you, but kind of in the same boat.

Just finished the 3rd FEC and was told a few weeks ago I might need 8 - yes 8!!! - in total rather than the normal 6. I’m going to have radio as well after that (don’t know how many sessions yet). Oh joy! Quite like the cold cap keeping my head cool! - No, not really!

When I saw my chemo nurse last time, I told her that I need some extra motivation to continue… at least the midway check up is coming up and hoping for good results to assure me that the suffering has been worthwhile.

At least UK isn’t as hot as Spain. Joining you to make the scream louder…

Take care xx

Hi All, not quite sure they are giving me rads in between, possibly to give me a break ha bloody ha… lol…

I was also told or read somewhere that more than 6sessions of chemo is dangerous…

I am back in on Thursday, dreading it, my mouths still full of sores, glands up on my throat, legs like tree trunks, lymphodemia,!

Apart from that, all fine lol…

Hi Theresa
just wanted to send you a hug. I was also told after my first two FEC that I would be having 8 instead of 6, but I looked on it as being given every chance of beating this thing. I finished my chemo 11 weeks ago now, rads finished 2 weeks ago, and I’m starting to feel normal again.

You’ll get there…

Hi Muffett

Don’t know if you have tried this but I found frozen fresh pineapple chunks fantastic at keeping mouth ulcers at bay. Just used to suck them and it really helped. I have also read about people using pineapple juice as a gargle/mouthwash which also helps.

Hi Theresa,

Just wanted to come on and send a big hug!! I’m not posting much these days, getting back to a bit of normality but I do come on and read the posts every couple of days. No wonder you’re feeling the way you do, it’s all cumulative and coming up to no 6 means you’re just about at your limit. I wasn’t worth a button getting no 6 and I can sympathise with the thought of a no 7!!! The heat really won’t help things either, I found gargling with cooled boiled salted water several times a day a big relief to my mouth and kept all the sores at bay. I had 10 ulcers with first chemo and was only able to eat smoothies!!! You are doing so well with treatment and hopefully you’ll feel better soon…I’m looking forward to seeing you in Sept, and Sharon too… She isn’t too well right now…I’m hoping this new chemo will halt her progression… Are you on facebook by any chance? There are a lot of us from this site all friends on it now and it’s a great way to keep in touch.

Big hugs for now
take care
