Help with loosing weight

Hi I had a DMX in November and started Tamoxifen last month (so far so good).

Have been struggling with my weight though (like alot of people I presume).

Do you know if we can get any help with weight loss (other than the MacMillan), like referral to SW or WW etc?

Thanks People

Hi mummyknapp

Thanks for posting.

We often hear from people asking how they can lose weight after breast cancer treatment.

If you haven’t done so already, do speak to your breast care nurse, treatment team or GP about any weight loss and exercise programmes that are available in your local area and if they can refer you.

The NHS has developed a 12-week weight loss programme in association with the British Dietetic Association, which your GP can also discuss with you.

Adapting to life after treatment can be difficult and often the need for information and support continues. You may be interested in our Moving Forward resources that are for people who have had a diagnosis of primary breast cancer and have come to the end of their main hospital treatment within the last 2 years. They include our Moving Forward booklet and Moving Forward courses.

Do call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions. The helpline team have time to listen, talk things through and signpost you to more support and information if necessary. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks. The number is 0808 800 6000, (Relay UK -prefix 18001).

If you would prefer one of our nurses to call you. To do this, please complete this form ticking the box agreeing to a call back.

Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am -1pm on Saturday.
