Hi everyone,I was at the clinic last Thursday after a 9 week wait had a FNA and examination done (no scans) and was told i had a fibroadema although the biopsy results never stated what cells present so doctor said it was what she thought as i am 32 and it is typical shape and texture…Will this be right ? I am going out my mind with worry although i have chosen to have it removed anyway .
Hi Simba,
First of all, if you’re not entirely happy with what you are being told, you can ask for a second opinion.
I know it may seem like little comfort to you but there are some really helpful and supportive people on this forum and we’ll be here for you. We all know how horrible the waiting is so you’re not on your own. Any time you want to rant or share your feelings, you can do it here, knowing that we all understand how you are feeling. There are some excellent sources of help and information on the site too.
I know it’s very easy to say, “don’t worry” but very difficult to do. Nevertheless, we are here for you, Hon.
Sending you a big hug.

Hi there,
I had a fibroadenoma (I’m 26) and had it removed, before that the nurse did a core biopsy. I had mine removed as it was growing, albeit slowly and it was getting painful. Now around 12-18 months later I have another lump in its place. When you have your lump removed, they wills end it off for further testing to establish what exactly it is and should call you back to give you the results of that test.
Its a very anxious time, the waiting is the worst bit, all these tests and waiting around for results. When I had an examination, they thought mine was a fibroadenoma, and as it happens, they were right… but I am a firm believer that you should never make assumptions…at the end of the day, its your life they have in their hands, and they should never assume your ok without checking it out properly first.
Take care
