Hi everyone - apologies I’ve been away for a week staying with my mum in N Wales , I drove mysejf there and back 4.5 hours each way so I’m proud of myself but shattered today !
I’m now going to scroll through and try and catch up x
Thank you so much for the warm welcome x
My hospital goes with cannula due to cost, and my veins started off great but due to them being badly damaged during ECT I got a port for Kadcyla as the only other access now is my foot they explained they start with a cannula with patients at my cancer centre and only if there’s problems they give you a central line as it’s too expensive to give everyone
Oof, that sounds like it would be horrific to have to get that through your foot! I’m glad you were able to get a port.
My Phesgo was stopped too but I asked to restart it which he agreed to so I just missed 1 on the day of surgery. I assume that will be added on the end. I finished radiotherapy yesterday! Celebrating later with steak and Prosecco as ate lunch late yesterday so didn’t want much to eat!
Were they tested or how do you know they were benign? Are you having more CT’s up to a year or a year and a half?
Hi @sassy3 Welcome to the thread. We are a very friendly supportive bunch.
@sooz1 oh dear you are having a tough time. It’s so hard not to think the worst but until the next scan you won’t know for sure. A lady I met in June 2023 on here thought she had mets and posted in the secondary groups, had her scans and it wasn’t. We are here for you. Sending a virtual hug.
I’m hoping this image comes through. Its a small book of affirmations my daughter sent me. Happy Easter all. Keep believing.
They stopped my phesgo before surgery because they didn’t think it was having a massive effect and they were querying my her2 status. Had been warned likely on to kadcyla after depending on pathology. Turned out I was her2 negative but it did worry me to start with when they stopped it pre surgery
Hi All,
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine? I’ve kept up with all your news but have been hiding away waiting for my results, threw in a little trip to Greece which worked wonders on my mental health as I was just me there no body knew me and I could just be myself.
I did come back to good news girt gristle has been removed entirely and there was no sign of cancer in my lymph nodes!!( the extra bit was to ensure a clear margin)! To say I’m relieved is an understatement, just waiting for my chemo appointment now to find out what cocktail I get, when and how often. I’m a bit nervous and I know it’s a long road for us her2 warriors but for the first time I actually feel positive and wanted to share.
Great news @jobieejo delighted for you.
@jobieejo amazing news!!! So happy for you
Hey everyone and i hope you are all having a good easter weekend… can’t believe its only over tomorrow… where did them 4 days go?!
I just wanted to ask any ladies on here if they have had wisdom teeth removed before in past. I had all 4 of mine removed a week tomorrow and im struggling bad with ulcers. I have them on my lips and one wopper inside my mouth on cheek… its swollen and its as big as my molar tooth! I am on antibiotics anyway just incase and i have special mouth wash and also i have clove oil which is awful but helping a lot. Not your usual shitty titty post but it is still the cause of all this teeth drama since i needed them out before i start them Bone infusions… ahhh…xx
Hi all, I am another her2+! Diagnosed triple positive in December, surgery in January and chemo started on 8th April! My regime is 4 x ec then 12 x paclitaxol my chemo journey has started as a rollercoaster with an allergic reaction to filgrastim (changed to lenograstim) then a blood clot in/from my picc line, it had been uncomfortable since it was put in as well as the blood clot my veins were also inflamed so out it came! I am now clueless as to what will happen next, I know Ec is harsh on the veins has anyone stopped Ec and moved straight to paclitaxol with the herceptin?! My cancer was grade 3, 27mm no node involvement
Fantastic news girt no more
I had all my wisdom teeth out in my 20s, 2 in the dentist and 2 in hospital. Mine healed fairly quickly. Can you call for advise? I know you’re on antibiotics but they won’t help with ulcers. Looks like you have a special mouth wash, which I would assume should treating but they may need to swap to something different.
After all you’ve been through you don’t need this. Fingers crossed it all heals soon.
@sn25 Welcome to the group. Hopefully somebody else that had your treatment plan can advise about the EC.
@jeml . I had 2 out in hospital about 6 years ago. I remember having to rinse with salt water about 3 times a day. Fortunately they healed really well. I had soft food for about a week and avoided any hot drinks. Chemo gave me mouth ulcers so I sympathise.
Thank you for your reply, my teeth are okay its just the ulcers in pain whenever i eat… had a right tow eating my easter egg… was worth it though! I been swishing with salt water too… just hope it goes away soon felt a bit fed up last few days with it all. Defo don’t need it!
@bigpickle mouth ulcers are awul arent they! I also got the odd one with chemo but was not bad… these ones are really painful and huge but obviously i did the google and it says it can happen due to trauma from teeth extraction… ahh the joys! At least its over with now the wisdom teeth are out and i can start the infusions soon… what is the point in wisdom teeth… they have no purpose only to be a pain in ars x
Hi Ladies… it’s been a little while since my last post as I’ve been busy getting ready for my first EC cycle tomorrow.
As I mentioned before, I decided to cut my hair before chemo takes it and I wanted to share my experience. It was one of the most powerful and emotional days of my life. I was flooded with so many emotions — anxiety & sadness, but also an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I was surrounded by my gorgeous family, who brought laughter through the tears, music to fill the quiet moments, and just enough wine to ease the heaviness of the day.
Today I feel empowered and ready to embrace my new look…
I found Anbesol quite helpful when I went through an anxiety ridden phase and was chewing my cheeks in my sleep and giving myself ulcers. Not sure if you need something a bit stronger though.
