More to do with practical things such as dog walking or helping with household cleaning. I did a lot of batch cooking and froze the meals in advance, which helped a lot.
@evicting_00_squatter This heat definitely doesnāt agree with me either, I feel like I have zero tolerance , Iām guessing itās a chemo/menopause thing.. Iāve bought some cooling towels from Amazon which are proving invaluable x
@wibbles great news to hear one step is out of the way and I can hear the relief in your post at finding a surgeon who listens , Iām finding more new clinicians are adopting a person centred holistic approach which really helps x

I was terrified going for my first chemo to the point where I burst into tears as the nurse was doing my obs.. then something bizarre happened . It was actually ok .. I built it up so much in my head that it was nothing like I imagined , I was sat in a chair and furnished with hot drinks and snacks while I scrolled on my phone !
My tips for first chemo are take ear buds and an iPad/kindle or phone .. or a good book , puzzle book or some crafts , one lady used to take all her crochet stuff with her . (I did my tax return during one chemo session 
)
A blanket in case you feel a bit tired or cold and some snacks/drinks as our unit relied on staff ratios for the drinks/snacks trolley and if they were busy , it didnāt happen.
Also drink plenty of clear fluids before and during your infusion as it helps to flush the chemo through.
Ask for laxative , you might think Iām crazy but chemo constipation is like nothing on earth ! Just in case you are in the same boat I was (on the phone to triage in tears) ask them to prescribe laxido for you to take home , not everyone gets bunged up but itās best to be prepared x
Also donāt forget to register with little lifts for your chemo box- itās a charity so the boxes are free (I believe they do a surgery one too) there are some really useful and lovely things in them x

Hi everyone and welcome to you @jenny9 Iām back from Switzerland and back in the office. 
Iām sorry you find yourself here but not surprised to see you have been given a warm welcome. Waiting to start treatment is one of the horrible parts but wasnāt anywhere near as bad as Iād imagined when I got going. Yes, loperamide is your friend. You can always find emotional support on here and great that youāve joined the chemo starters for your month. My fightback against chemo and feeling bad was to go walking with musical theatre tracks blasting in my ears and stopping off for cake. Simple but effective. Itās good to hear that you have a supportive network around you. I hope you have some news by now about when you can start chemo. I used to take a warm blanket as the cold cap was bloody freezing (not sure if you will be doing that) and my headphones so I could listen to Alan Partridge and Chris Lilley who make me laugh. What with the drugs they pump you with, I was off in quite a hazy and pleasant place most chemo days.

Hi, I wanted the share a very exciting update for those with her2 cancer and the Flamingo trial which has been showing some promise.
STAFFORD, Texas, July 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) ā Greenwich LifeSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: GLSI) (the āCompanyā), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on its Phase III clinical trial, FLAMINGO-01, which is evaluating GLSI-100, an immunotherapy to prevent breast cancer recurrences, today announced the regulatory approval to expand FLAMINGO-01 into the United Kingdom.
The Companyās application to expand FLAMINGO-01 into the UK has been formally approved by UK regulators, thus adding potentially 5-10 geographically distributed UK sites to the approximately 170-180 approved sites in the US and Europe.
The Company is collaborating with The Royal Marsden, a leading cancer research institute. Not been on for a while. Yes exams gsceās etc are just a stepping stone and there are many ways to cross. My sons oldest completely retaliated and didnāt do his exams. He got his seamanship for sailing yachts and he did that for a couple of years then decided to do an Access to Uni course did that and hey presto got his degree and hasn t looked back ā¦ā¦married with two children doing well.. hope that helpsā¦..the melt downsā¦.too much emphasis on this is your only chance. Not true!!!
I had a fab time in Normandyā¦..our little Airbnb french cottages were just perfect. Fell in love with Rouen want to live thereā¦ā¦and as for Monets gardens - they were just amazing. A holiday to treasure.

Meanwhile am in the very long nhs queue for mri neck and brainscan. A&E told me u cant hsve those symptoms and no pain. Trust me u can I assured him! 
So he said Im too complex for a&e & discharged me, ignored the world class nhs neurologistwho also said you can havd sympyons no pain!! Im not thinking about it anymoreā¦ā¦.I tried private but I have an implant and the stupid company booked ne into a scanner that wouldve left me parralised permenantly waist down but was saved by a radiographer technician. So that shot that idea and so over to the nhsā¦ā¦
Im working on the principle Im alive so far whatever it is no point dwdlmi g on it. Weāve all learnt to grab life and enjoy cos no point thinking any further ahead. So to that end Ive bought up new pots in Denbys massive sale and treated myself to Radleys handbags sold off in liquidated stock. Im sad theyāre going forever but ive never had either until their demise. So sat supping a cuppa in my new mugs loving it.
Im getting my paints out to do some Monet-esque ala waveylocks paintings. I think Im best to go with abstract!!
Anyone else fancy a go? We could setup a gallery!!

Sounds like the medical people are leading you a merry dance at present. A bit of retail therapy is exactly what is required. I am addicted to Vinted.
Your photo has inspired me to post another of my Swiss trip recently. We were coming down Ebenalp and my husband went for a swim in a lake. I sat down to write my diary and was joined by these beautiful gentle cows. The one in the pic kept nuzzling me for some attention.

Hereās to more trips @salbert and @waveylocks nothing like a lovely garden or a bit of bovine friendship to shift the focus onto the nicer things. I now seem to be at a stage, having finished herceptin 3 months ago, where Iām getting a number of people ( who werenāt necessarily that available during the treatment phase) asking do I know my chances of staying clear. My answer tends to be along the lines ā no idea, Iām too busy living life to be that concerned!ā
Love to all wherever youāre at but especially if you are still on the results/ planning/ early treatment phase.

Hy all meant to message earlier Iāve been back from the Algarve 2 weeks and it was brilliant, I got a bit emotional when I arrived at the hotel because I never thought I would get back again whilst I was going through my treatment but I did. Had a lovely relaxing time slapped on the sun cream and stayed under the shade. Booked again for next year

Im now emptying cupboards like a mad soul. Fed up with the mess so making a concerted effort! Well the truth is I have a spot of decorating going on tomorrow and am embarasssd by the messā¦.Haha! Xx

Hope everyone is braced for the next heatwave, except if youāre up North. Off to Yorkshire soon to get away from the heat, never thought Iād say that from Wales. Had a drizzle of rain overnight two days ago, first bit for over a month. Have to rename it Costa del Wales,
@carrie5 Those signs are perfect. I love them. This is the way I feel but sometimes I need reminding and it makes me grateful all over again.
@caz591 So good to see you looking relaxed and happy in Portugal. We are on this journey together and I do so love to celebrate the highs with you all when weāve all had such lows.
@waveylocks you are one step ahead of me! I tell myself every summer that once I break up and am not teaching on Thursday evenings and Saturdays, I will clear out cupboards and bookcases. Iāll let you know if a shelf even got done come September.
@naughty_boob I never noticed the cowās leg was in the air! I think we were both thinking āWhat happens next?!ā We went campervanning at the weekend and there was the tiniest bit of rain on Sunday morning. My goodness but it was lovely. I stood in a field with my face raised to the skies. We were in a campsite down in Ford right in between the river and Ford Open Prison! Lovely walk into Arundel. Too much food and too many Passion Fruit Martinis but whoās counting.

@Jaygo it is Lagos we went there for the day, we stayed in Alvor which we love that was our fifth time I just love the beach in Alvor it goes on for miles x

Havenāt posted for about a year, but thought I would ask here first.
Iām 1 year past a therapeutic mammoplasty on both breasts, and it will be a year come November since radio finished. I havenāt started my bone strengthening yet due to dental issues so I am currently on no medication but every joint hurts, my muscles hurt and my boobs still hurt. Anyone else like this? Some of my chemo pals are in discomfort but they are on hormone blockers. Due my 1 year post surgery mammogram and surgeon check up in August so will mention it when there but thought I would ask here first.

Iām on hormone blockers and have joint pain. Chemo affects all the cells in our bodies so there could be long lasting affect from that.
Good idea to ask at your next meeting.
There are some ladies on here who arenāt on hormone blockers, so hopefully they will answer aswell
