Hi ladies. Is anyone else HER2+ but not grade 3? I keep reading that HER2 is generally grade 3 but my dr seemed to give the impression that mine was low grade - 1 possibly 2?
I should mention that I am ER- in case that makes a difference?
I know I shouldn’t be doubting what has been said… but I’m almost second guessing if I heard correctly?

Are you mixing up grade & stage?, I know I did when first diagnosed.
If it was stage 1 or 2, then it has been caught early, which is good. This refers to the size of the lump & whether the nodes are affected or not. There is an explanation on the main bcc site here.
Grade refers to how aggressive the tumour is & yes you’re right, her2+ tends to be grade 3.
Is it an idea to clarify this with your BCN? or alternatively, post on the ‘ask our nurses’ board.

Just to let you know , I had 2 small tumors close to each other. Both her2+. One was grade 2 and the other grade 3.
I think it is totaly possible you heard right.

Hi Sam, mine is grade 2, her2+ and ER+
Mine is the same as Ali, grade 2 her2+ and er+ But our treatment regime is different apart from having Herceptin which seems to be the first line of defense for her2.
You will find that you may have a similar diagnosis to other people but your treatment will be tailored to you as an individual taking into account your age, general health specific other medical issues etc.
