i was wondering how long does it take to get her2 results i have had the results of all other tests exept this one my opperation was four weeks ago and i am due to start chemo on wednesday

It depends on where the test are done. The results got lost my first time round, the second time it took three weeks. You have nothing to lose by phoning your BC Nurse and asking her to chase them, mine did, she’s great!

I agree with Carol chase your results. A lady on this site was told she would have to wait months. I had mine in just over 2 weeks.

Mine took about a month - no harm in chasing them up!

Mine took 3 months (Newcastle). But I didn’t know I was waiting for them! They were +ve.

I got my results today - 8 days after my op - I would definitely chase them up if you haven’t done already

I got mine about 3 weeks after tests, I think and was told would be on Herceptin, but then found out about 4 weeks ago that apparently was borderline and had to do a further test called FISH (please don’t ask what this means, no idea). But told last week that would be on Herceptin.

If you are worried or just want to know, chase them up, you have nothing to lose.

hi all
went for my first chemo today and asked about her2 results doctor said the results are not back yet and could take a few months and not to worry thats a joke i have worried myself silly since i was diagnosed anyway chemo was ok i feel better knowing its in there doing its job.
