HERCEPTIN-A cold or side effects?

I know that quite a lot of you ladies have talked about a drippy nose as a side effect of herceptin. How bad is it?

Had my first one a couple of weeks ago and over the last few days I have had what seems like a flu or heavy cold. Is this it? Will I have to put up with it constantly?Or is it perhaps just a cold?

Could any of you describe your related cold type side effects?

Thankyou. Juliex

Hi Julie

First time I have posted here, although have been reading the forums since first diagnosed last Sept. Finished chemo in May (3 EC followed by 6 Tax and herceptin) now just on herceptin.

I did have a very runny nose and very watery eyes whilst on the tax and herceptin. Once tax finished eyes no longer watery. Nose remained a problem for some time but has now improved a lot as well.

Not sure if that helps you. Hope it clears up soon.

Hi Juliet

I am on Herceptin - dose 7 week after next. the drippy nose is just a drippy nose and no symptoms of cold or flu. so I think you could have a heavy cold.

I haven’t been achy on the Herceptin so not really sure if that is a side effect. I am very tired and my ankles still hurt from the chemo.

Sorry if that doesn’t help a lot.

Hi Julie,

I had the herceptin dripping nose. It wasn’t bad, I just needed to keep a hankie nearby. But since I started taking my annual hay fever nasal spray a couple of months ago, the dripping has stopped.

Hi,
I had what seemed like a heavy cold about a week after my first herceptin. it was definitely more than just a dripping nose and i came to the conclusion that maybe it was just a cold. I didn’t have it after the second herceptin and i had the third one a week ago and have been fine so far.
