Hello everyone, I’m due to start Herceptin monotherapy soon after 4 cycles of EC and then mastectomy (3 weeks ago). I am also at high risk of cardio-toxicity due to type 1 diabetes, high cholesterol, and family history. I’ve read that a percentage of patients are resistant to Herceptin because of the presence of p95HER2 markers or because the body creates antibodies which stop it working. I believe there are tests for both of these types of resistance which I’m keen to have as don’t want to start a treatment if it’s unlikely to work and could otherwise damage me… What is the experience of others? has anyone else had either of these tests? or found Herceptin to be ineffective?
