Hi All

Can anyone help - is it good or bad to be HER negative while oestrogen and progesterone positive.

I am Her 2 negative and oestrogen positive. My understanding is that this is good news.

Hi Anne,

I am HER2 + and Er +. From what I can gather it sort of evens itself out really. Although being HER2 + means my tumour was more aggressive/rapidly growing, the fact that I can have Herceptin cancels this out. Apparently 20-25% of tumours are HER2 + and my bc nurse said that having Herceptin counteracts the fact that the tumour is more aggressive, putting me on a even footing as those who are HER2 -

Hi Anne

I am HER2+ and supposedly going on Herceptin after chemo - but not all been confirmed as such yet. I know that HER2+ means my cancer is more aggressive, but then Herceptin is supposed to be very good. It apparently acts as a barrier to stop any rogue cancer cells spreading - don’t quote me on that though!!!
