I’m new to the forum, was diagnosed with DCIS in 2014, had a left breast mastectomy and no further treatment. Would love to chat to anyone in the bedford/Milton Keynes area who has been through similar diagnoses, maybe a few years further along, just to share experiences and just chat!
Still have my worries every time I get any aches and pains…probably just paranoid or is it normal to feel like this.
Regards
Sharon ?
Hi Sharon,
Welcome to the forum.
I didn’t have a dicis diagnosis, but I think many of us can relate to being sensitised to any aches & pains after going through this, so it’s quite usual.
Hopefully, one of the other ladies with a dcis diagnosis &/or in your area will be along shortly.

Hi Sharon,
Welcome to this forum…you will find amazing support here.
Sorry, I don’t live at the same area but if you want to chat anytime, am here.
I had a single left mastectomy and level 1 & 2 lymph notes clearance. Unlike you, I have had further treatments.
As for the pains and aches, all of us do have a tendency to worry or think of the worse, we just want to be vigilant! For the first 2 years, I used to check on my right breast every day…it does get better as time goes by… now I do it monthly!
As for anxiety, it is great that you are taking time to write down all the positives.
Try not to worry…Take good care, Sharon

Hi Sharon

Oh…we provide a lot of those!!
Hi Sharon,
I know I am a bit behind here but welcome! I was diagnosed with breast cancer about this time last year, followed by a lumpectomy and radiotherapy, I also started tamoxifen, which I will take for 5 years. I’m just coming up for my first annual check-up, so am begining to feel pretty anxious about it!
I’m sorry you are feeling isolated as you move on from your own treatment. I think I know what you mean, none of my friends have had this type of health problem and so don’t seem to understand how you seem to live from check-up to check-up and are always anxious when you develop new aches and pains in case it’s something to worry about.
But you have come to the right place here, lots of support, understanding and some fun. Gill
