Hi everyone

My name is Trish and I had a right mastectomy and auxcillaryv node clearance in July 2014
I recovered well but sometimes my upper right arm aches and I find I’m quite tired a lot of the time During one of my routine scans before surgery a mass in my pelvis was discovered
Behind my coccyx up against my spine
I have been told this is non aggressive and slow growing and would be difficult to operate on due to it’s location. So far it’s being monitored by
Scans every three months ( my third due next week). However as this cannot be delt with by my local hospital I have yet to see a designated cllinition for this and scans are done at my local hospital and forward to the other hospital obviously I feel this is less than
Ideal and would rather be transfered to a specialist in this field I’m sixty two and feel a bit like being passed over !

Hi Trish - just wanted to say hello and how sorry I am to hear of the difficult time you’re having. I’m 66, had a double lumpectomy and axillary node clearance on the right side in June 2014 and am still having quite a bit of pain and numbness in my upper right arm and shoulder. Have been told this could last for a ‘long time’ by both the surgeon and oncologist, but no timescale given. Apart from that I’m feeling fine, but do get quite easily tired at times.
Anyway, enough of my moans … I just wanted to wish you well. This is a wonderful site and you’ll get lots of help and support from it. Take care, stay strong and keep on fighting.
All best wishes, Margaret
