Hi guys , I am new to the community. I am waiting for my lumpectomy surgery to remove a 15mm

Feeling nervous and eager to removing the 15mm Tumor stage 1 , any suggestions to stay calm and getting strong emotionally ?

Hi Jojo and a warm welcome to you ?

Its hard to feel anything other than fear and anxiety in the early weeks of diagnosis, it’s knowledge and time that is the key to getting through this stage. The more actual facts you get about your cancer and treatment going forward the better you will begin to feel. Endlessly speculating only makes anxiety worse!

Deal with one stage at a time, try not to think too much beyond surgery for now, Until the tumour is removed and tested fully you won’t know a definite treatment plan. It seems like endless waiting and tests at this stage but its all done to get the most accurate diagnosis and to give you the best treatment.

Things get easier and you will begin to feel calmer, I’m coming up to 4 years post diagnosis in March and if you had told me I would be feeling great and getting on with life again back then I would never have believed you! Give it time Xx Jo

Thank you Jobey  for your encouragement and wisdomsJan 10 is my surgery day to remove the tiny culprit , will feel better once out . The fortunate luck for me was I received my mammogram invite a year earlier , and caught at early stage 1 ! So I do believe in angels and this is poof xxx

Hi JoJo

I had a 1.7mm and 6mm tumour taken out by lumpectomy a few days ago. Also sentinel lymph nodes. The surgery went well, I’ve not been in any pain since. Now I have the wait.

I spent much of my time whilst I was waiting researching. I wanted to know everything. My latest obsession is looking at diets to make sure I’m eating the right foods to make sure I’m cancer free so I’ve been reading loads about supplements and different diets.

I’m happy to answer any questions about the op if you have any
