i am currently waiting for second op to clean up one edge of my lumpectomy.
Welcome to our forums. It’s a handy place to vent, express our anxieties and benefit from others’ experiences (tho no 2 cases are ever the same).
Read the forms you have signed and see if there is any reference to a full mastectomy should it prove necessary. If there isn’t, then they cannot perform that surgery so freaking out is a waste of precious energy.
One thing I would say though is that they must secure clear margins. Without those, the possibility of recurrence is greater. So I’d suggest you ask about this before your surgery, find out how much of your breast will remain and then consider whether reconstruction might be better. Me, I’d just wanted that boob gone (but that was my preference from the start).
