Hiking and travelling

Hello all,

So I would like to know the options available for hiking and traveling, while on zoladex, letrozole and Palbociclib.

I know I won’t be able to climb mountains now!!!:frowning: Really annoyed about that!!!

Any advise.

thanks ND

I’m not sure about travelling. I’ve been on Ibrance Anastrozole and Zometa for a year. I do loads of walking and really enjoy it. You can get travel insurance I think. There’s lots of advice on here about that. Obviously it depends how you feel and what the specific advice is. Enjoy what you can x

Hi

As Anne has said you will need to get travel insurance for secondaries if travelling abroad which is not as easy and costs more than with primary BC. I’ll bump up the thread on that so you can check out some of the companies.

Generally your oncologist needs to say that you are fit to travel and, as with most of us who do travel abroad, I don’t expect you would be going if you weren’t! I’d say just get on with it and do what you want to do, especially as your treatment at the moment is not very intrusive. Over the 11 years I’ve been living with SBC I’ve travelled as many times as possible, and not let this stupid disease ruin my enjoyment! When I’ve been on chemo there have been more restrictions, mainly for me to do with lowered immunity as I’m careful about air travel then, but we have still had breaks in the UK or used ferry crossings if we have gone abroad.

I’m on the same meds and  have just come back from Spain. Asked my nurse if it was ok and she said go for it!!
