How lovely to hear good news from everyone! It must be this beautiful weather. Is it sunny where you all are? Yes I am up! My energy is coming back and I am definitely going to get the tube and go and have lunch with my colleagues. Right in the middle of St James’s Park. I am looking forward to it and should start cleansing and toning soon!

What colleage course was that then Mel? And I do envy you all meeting up. Will be great.

Have a great day everybody

Hi All

Isn’t it a lovely day … sun is shining and makes us all happy.

Mel, glad to hear you are feeling so much more better today and very positive too from your post. I agree with you, live for today, we have no control over this and what will be will be. I decided about 2 weeks ago that it is out of my hands, and no matter how much I cry and scream and shout, it won’t change it and decided to look forward and enjoy as much time with my babies and hubby and not to dwell on things and have to say, not cried in 2 weeks!!! Living life as much as I can …

Dilys, good to see you up and have a wonderful day in town having lunch with your work friends - bet you are looking forward to that. I have been out of the city now since 2003 and don’t really venture back up there, as too much hassle sorting kids out really. Although still in contact with quite a few people. Where did you work - I worked in investment banking, Merrills, Lehmans, Commerzbank and a couple of others over 18 years. Makes me sound old doesn’t it. Started up there when sweet 16!!!

Kelly, hope you are having a good day too. Next time you are visiting your relatives in Kent, let me know and can get you a round of golf at hubbys club, which is in Wilmington, near Dartford. It is called Birchwood Park Golf Club. And well done on going commando - bet it feels wonderful especially with the lovely comments you are getting. Good on you.

Anyway, off to relax while Jack sleeping at Sophie at preschool - so take care all and enjoy your days, hope you all have good weekend planned too, think weather supposed to be good as well.

Lots of Love

Hi ladies,

great to hear from you all, defo must be this lovely weather! I’ve had a right tearful couple of days to be honest, not really sure why. My poor boyfriend had caught the brunt of it all as usual, bless him!! I feel a million times better today though, hurrah! My hair is going crazy now, woke up this morning to be greeted with wild curls!! Have been slapping serum on it to try and calm it a little!!

Mel - I still haven’t a clue where exactly the Healthy Living day is taking place next month but I have had a letter and sent all the bumph off to them. Does your confirmation letter contain any of that info? I just know the times! It’ll be great to meet you, I too am not really looking forward to the drive though! Congrats on your college course, sounds like you’ve done really well, good on 'ya!

Dilys - I’m glad to hear you’re up and about and raring to go for your lunch date! I hope you have an awesome time. Go get 'em girl!!

Dawn - Thanks so much for the offer of a round of golf at your hubby’s golf club. Much appreciated and will defo take you up on it next time we’re in Kent.

Good morning Mel, Kelly and Dawn and all

Wild curls, how lovely! I am so looking forward to that stage. And isnt it a lovely day again? I am sure this weather is good for us all. My OH has just gone off with a friend to the Classic Car Show at Alexandra Palace so I can indulge myself in peace this fine day. I am plannng an inexpensive wander round Wilkinsons (such extravagance).

Yesterday was lovely. St James’s Park is so beautiful and in the sunshine was even more stunning. We had a long giggly lunch with only a few minutes on the dreaded bc. I really didn’t want to spend the whole time talking about that, and caught up with all the gossip instead. I was indeed cleansed, toned, bewigged and in full make up, but they were more struck by my lovely weight loss! At least I managed to eat. I was more tired than I thought when I got home but hey, who cares. I have friends coming round here next Thursday and Friday as well which will be lovely. To be fitted round my second heart scan and OH’s hospital appointment!

Have a great weekend everyone and loads of love

Hi Everyone

Agree with Dilys, isn’t the weather great again … long may it last (bet it wont).

My little girl at dancing school, but she said she didn’t want to go and got all clingy so had to leave her crying. Not had a call though, so hopefully she settled down. She loves it when there, but doesn’t like me to leave her … dunno whether to continue as quite expensive.

Little Jack sleeping and I have just done the ironing and now gonna go and have a sit down, before he wakes up.

Hope everyone is doing well today and got lots planned for the weekend.

Mel, hope you are OK not heard back from you from my emails. Hoping you are good and having fun weekend with OH and kids.

Kelly, hope you good too and the hair is coming along well. Can’t wait to have my own hair back and especially if curly, as will look like my daughters!!! She has lovely blonde curly hair, not sure where she gets that from!!! Must be milkman LOL LOL.

Dilys, glad your lunch was fun yesterday, sounds lovely and makes me think I should do that one day, and catch up with old colleagues, but would not go west end way, would stay in the city. And sure you will have a great time Thurs and Fri when your friends visit. I am out and about most days with my little girls “social life” - so don’t get much rest and normally can’t wait for 7pm to come along.

Well, as said, hope everyone is ok and not suffereing chemo side effects. Got my FIRST TAXOTERE on Wednesday - oh my god - not sure how I feel and getting more nervous each day now.

Take care
Love
Dawn

Hi ladies,

Well I was fast asleep on the sofa by 8 last night!! Mind you so was my boyfriend so I guess it must be catching! We took ourselves off to bed at 9 and fell straight to sleep. I suppose I must’ve needed it, but I was up at the crack of sparrows this morning as as result!! Been out for an hour at the golf club, no practice for me though as still feeling quite fatigued.

Mel - I can’t believe I’ve still not had my confirmation through! I sent the bumph off ages ago, I know we’ve got a postal strike and all but I was sort of hoping to have something back by now. Blimey I hope they haven’t misplaced my paperwork and now I’ve missed the boat, I’ll be well cross!! I’ve e-mailed the lady in charge so hopefully will get some good news on monday. It’ll be so great to see your friend, especially as you can kill 2 birds with one stone!!! Have a great time catching up with her.

Dilys - I’m so glad you had a lovely time yesterday, and I hope you enjoy your hubbie free day today! Its great that you got compliments, always perks me up. Mind you I don’t have too many people commenting on my weight loss, that may be on account of the amount of chocolate I have consumed lately!!! LOL!!

Dawn - I hope your daughter has had a lovely time at dancing school and will be grinning when you pick her up. I’m sure you’ll have matching curls before you know it! Trust me, when it comes back it certainly comes back with avengence!! What time are you chemoing on Weds? I am due for my final CMF at 10.30 so I’ll be thinking of you. Got wine and choccies for every member of staff on the unit so no doubt they’ll be chuffed to see me!!

Take care all and have awesome weekends. May our chemo side effects be minimal!!

Dear All

What happened to the sun then? Dawn was spot on when she bet it wouldn’t last. Never mind, sounds as if we are all having good days. Wasn’t Lewis Hamilton great? Pole position again. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. I have had a fit of energy and done loads of washing, deep cleaned the bathroom, done some shopping, and tidies up generally. It needed doing! I keep thinking about those curls, Kelly. My youngest granddaughter has a lovely head of golden curls which I deeply envy at the moment. If mine comes back like that I shall be over the moon. Right, am going to vacuum the living room and curl back up with a cup of tea, a cat and a book!
Such bliss.

Love to all

Morning all,

well is was yet another early night for me last night!! I just can’t cut it like I used to!! 35 going on 95 right now I reckon! Needless to say I’ve been up since 7 again as I’ve had soooooo much sleep.

Off for a carvery lunch later at the golf club. We’ve eaten there loads before but have never tried the carvery. Got friends coming to take us out for lunch next sun to celebrate the end of my chemo so thought we’d best try it out beforehand in case its horrid and we have to book somewhere else. I’m sure it won’t be, but hey, any excuse!

Dilys - I’m ashamed to say that, patriotic though I am, formula one just isn’t my bag baby. So, I’ll have to take your word that Lewis H did well yesterday, I take it you’re a big fan?? I hope you enjoyed your relaxing, hubby free, day yesterday! I don’t know where you are all getting this energy from but can you please send some my way!! I’m currently supping on a good old lucozade to help sort me out.

Mel - Your NVQ sounds great, good on 'ya! Especially for sticking with it whilst on chemo! I reckon if you can do that you can accomplish just about anything! I hope you have a great catch up with your friend today and she sorts you out. I shaved my hair off to and really missed it but I promise it will be back before you know it! It’ll soon be driving you mad again as mine is starting to!! Hoping I’ll get an e-mail or phone call tomorrow confirming my place in Stoke. I googled the hotel and it looks lovely. Not looking forward to the drive up the M6 though!!!

Take care all and enjoy your days,

Kelly

Dear Kelly, Mel and everyone

The NVQ in childcare sounds great, Well done you. Ad it sounds is if you wil have a lovely day today as well. Hope your friend sorts out your back for you. And Kelly, enjoy your lunch today. I had a good day yesterday in the end but for some reason slept as if I had been clubbed and am feeling completely dozy now. Quite understand about Formula 1 Kelly - my OH used to be a Formula 1 mechanic years ago so I have been interested for years. Not such a good result today though! Down to the wire in Brazil in a fortnight.

I have lost my sleep cap! How have I done that? It must be here somewhere as it does not have legs. But can I find it! Ho hum. Off for another fruitless search.
Lots of love

Hey girlies!

Hope everyone has a wondermus week!

Hi All!!!

Well my weekend went really really well - so I am just waiting for the fall out!!!
It was so good to catch up with my mate who looks so well and yes she cricked, cracked and god knows what else to my back but it was the most weirdest experience ever but great!!! Even thought my mate has been doing this for ten years now I have never asked her to do it on me - never really felt the need to until know!! lets just hope it works. she is coing down again in two weeks to do the same!!
My weekend was going so well until 12.30 am when my daughter Anneka started being sick and has not stopped yet! so we both ahd a very sleepless night! She looks so pale - hate it when my kids are ill… so at home playing the attentive mum!! at least I can do more college wrok ready for Thuisday hand over.
I hope All are ok and had a good weekend! I have started dieting lololol lets see how long it lasts???

Stay safe and happy. giggle all the way!
I was in such a weird mood yesterday that when I popped into the the suppermarket with my sis just to do a top up shop and decided to really wind her up lolol
I stood in the middle of the isle and stared up at the ceiling and it was amazing how many people joined in but would not ask what I was looking at! my poor sis did not knopw what to do!!! Its a good job that he staff ih there know me really well. You will have to try it some time…

Anyway hope everyone is well
Wishes, kisses and hugs

Hi All

Oh how funny Mel. Must try it in my local shop. Sounds as if good weekends were had by all, though I hope Anneka is feeling better now? And your back is behaving after its workout? Sun trying to come out again here thank goodness. Have a quiet day today then off to see the grandchildren tomorrow. Book to finish then off to buy fruit in the market.

Good luck with the diet! I am so lucky to have lost weight over this lot. Has to be some benefit!

Lots of love

Hi Everyone, especially Dilys!

This is my first post on the forum - having just read through the whole thread, it’s great to know there are other people out there who understand what I’m going through.

I met up with Dilys at the Look Good, Feel Better session recently; it was lovely to meet you. We had a fantastic time, and I certainly learned a lot from the session. The goodie bag was gorgeous - way beyond my expectations - packed with stuff I would never have been able to afford. I now need to get up half a hour earlier to get my face done, esp. eyes!

In an hour’s time I’m off for my very last chemo (3 x FEC, 3 x Taxotere); I’m hoping this will be quicker than my last, which took nearly two hours, and that my vein can stand up to it. I’ve found that the Tax has given me lots more side effects than FEC, but at least it doesn’t make me feel sick. I get the horrible mouth too, which makes most food taste disgusting, and this is lasting throughout the three week cycle. Bizarrely, despite this, I’ve put on the stone I’d lost before starting Taxotere! I usually have two reasonable days before going downhill and spending the rest of the time lying around. Took my steroids yesterday and got less than two hours’ sleep, so feeling jittery. Can’t wait to get the drugs out of my system!

Saw my onc when going for my blood test on Thursday and he told me off for using the phrase ‘chemo brain’ when I answered a question incorrectly - he thinks it’s an American myth - he always makes me feel I’m back at school!

Have already had radiotherapy planning session, and starting that next month. As I’m triple neg, I suppose it’ll just be checkups after that.

Had better sign off … good luck to you all,

Alison

Hi ladies,

well I’ve been a v.busy bee this morning catching up with all the housework that I’ve totally neglected over the weekend! I always like to have a really good pre-chemo clean-up!!! Feel a bit pooped now though and still have a mountain of ironing that unfortunately won’t do itself!! Attempting to make a cottage pie for tea, having never ever made one in my life!!! Rang my mum and she has told me what to do, so here’s hoping it turns out ok. The carvery at the golf club was lovely yesterday, I absolutely love a nice roast and its even better when I don’t have to cook it!

Mel - I got an e-mail today confirming my place at Stoke, hurrah!! They sent my confirmation letter last week apparently but won’t get it 'til this postal strike is sorted. I’m thinking I’m gonna have to set off quite early in the morning as the M6 is a nightmare!! Your shop story was well funny, I must try it! I’m glad you got your back sorted, hope your little one is feeling a lot better now.

Dilys - I hope you have found your sleep cap now. Not sure where you are in the country but we have got glorious sunshine here in Shrops today, hurrah! Weather was pretty grim yesterday so its about time. My mum lives in Kent and she had great weather all weekend so I guess its finally reached us! Good job as I had 2 huge loads of washing this morning!! Not sure how all this housework is gonna get done when I eventually get back to work I’m sure! Enjoy your day with your grandchildren tomorrow. I’ve got my final (hopefully!!!) pre-chemo bloods then I’m off to see my fav gals at the Clinque counter at my local debenhams as I’m almost all out of foundation, and I look a mess without it!! Its free gift time too which is a bonus.

Lee & Dawn - I hope you are both doing ok and had good weekends!

Take care all,

Kelly
-x-

Well done Kelly. Sounds as if you had a good weekend and have done tons this morning. I’ve been over buying fruit on the local market. I’m in East London by the way and it is grey and overcast! Quite warm though. My sleep cap is still on the missing list. I have searched everywhere. Very weird. By the way cottage pie is so simple you won’t believe it!

Good luck with your bloods and enjoy your make up shopping. You are going to so love the freebies they give you at LookGoodFeel Better!

Much love to all
