Holidays -do put medication in your hand luggage
Holidays -do put medication in your hand luggage A lesson i learnt!
Always put your medication in your hand luggage and get a note from the doctor to cover you for it!
Two weeks ago I had a 4 day family trip to Toronto, Canada. I am Canadian and it was the first time back since I was 4 years of age! The trip was a present from my brother, something to look forward to after 9 months of treatment.
And they lost our bags on the way there! Stupidly I had my Tamoxifen in the luggage that they lost! It was a complete nightmare. I phoned England and because it was Saturday/Sunday nobody could help, so we had to seek out a doctor (the hotel doctor was a stupid amount of money!) It still cost a lot of money to see a private doctor, firstly to pay for the doctor and of course per tablet (prescriptions in Canada are paid per tablet)
My bag turned up 12 days later, when I was back home.
I won’t be doing that again in a hurry. Just wanted to make sure nobody else went through the same thing! Three airports I went to are littered with lost baggage! because of the recent scare it is hitting most airports.
Good luck and happy holidays!

A lesson learned ! Hi Karen, sorry to hear about your experience. That is a lesson learned I have been to Paris twice this year and once kept my tamoxifen in my hand luggage and the other time packed it in my case. In future I will make sure it is in my bag !!!
