Hi Claspe, thanks for your reply. I wasn’t offered a double mastectomy as my left breast was ok. Going for follow up and results next week x

The drain is a pest but you can adjust around it. Just watch your self on door handles :grimacing: I had to have two replacements, one time the cap broke, the other lost the vacuum. We called them Deloris, Dorothy and Diana. Diana only lasted a day as I was able to have it removed after that.

I had single mastectomy and axillary lymph nodes clearance in August. I was in first thing (got the 'golden patient’slot) and home by end of day. Rather a quick turn around, they weren’t sure I would manage owing to my pain while in recovery room, but I got home. If you have exercises do them - or what you can of them. My triumph when I managed to extend my arm fully for the first time!

Be gentle with yourself

Yes, my wound has healed well
I get soreness in arm from lymph node clearance still but that’s normal
The scar is very neat. If I look in the mirror it looks like my chest is winking at me  I am quite proud of it.

Now just started chemo which is a while new adventure… Erm!!
