Had Letrozole, very bad side effects, then Exemestane for last year, still very bad side effects.
Been offered Tamoxifen to see how that goes - also Consultant said I could have a bone scan and that’s now scared me, I have stiff joints, bad balance, shoulder hurts, chronic fatigue, feet numb & really hurt, memory bad, plus more !
Should I have bone scan ???

Sorry to hear you are experiencing so many symptoms.
I just had a DEXA bone scan this morning before starting 10 years (!) of letrozole. My understanding is that it was to look at my bones to see if I have any osteoporosis before I start. I guess they want to see whether the letrozole has affected your bone density. The scan took about 10 minutes and was completely painless.

I have taken tamoxifen for 6 months after radiotherapy (no chemo) I asked my BCNurse last week about a bone scan , she got back to me to say I didn’t need one.
I will be taking it for 5 years, emotional the first 6 weeks then settled down, now got a different brand and it’s like my internal temperature has shot up
