Hi
Sorry you have had a bad time. I had quite a few issues during my treatment, and made a complaint to the hospital through their patient advice and liaison Service (PALS), and that lead to changes in procedure. There should be a similar service at your hospital, and that is probably the best rout to start with. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear that you had a long wait for the result of the dexa scan which showed you needed medication. However I think that you have been extremely lucky to have had the dexa scan so soon and before your radiotherapy which showed the fantastic level of service you have received. I do not know which part of the UK you live but Health has unfortunately been devolved to the Welsh Labour Gov in Wales and waiting lists for hospital appointments are now the longest they have been in history and so much longer than England. It is unfair that due to the incompetent Labour Senedd Gov who are always trying to put the blame on others, Wales has some of the worst cancer outcomes in Europe. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and had surgery in December and radiotherapy following April. No one mentioned the dexa scan to me until my first checkup December 2022 when the Doctor said I should have had the scan Jan 2022 when I started taking Letrozole to see what my base level was. I subsequently found others were in same situation as me and this was the norm. I was told that as there is only one dexa scan to cover the whole of North Wales, there was a waiiting list of 14 months. I had to plead with my GP surgery to get a quicker date than having to wait another 14 months, as I was 12 months overdue for the scan already. After several phone calls to Surgery and Hospital I was given an appointment 2 weeks later. I saw consultant at bone clinic 4 months later as was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis in my spine and arranged to be given infusion treatment. I felt very let down as I may have unknowingly made the osteoporosis in my hips and spine worse due to not being aware that I had the condition and should have been prescribed medication sooner.
