About 2 weeks ago my sister had a mamogram and then an aspiration for a cyst, but now she has just got a letter to say she needs a Ultra sound. Why would they do this, is it a normal follow up from a aspiration. They didnt do this when I had an cyst about 2 years ago.

With no replies, I take it that nobody else has had a recall after a aspiration then. This sounds bad to me.

Not really sure maybe they are being a bit belt and braces or maybe its just the way they do things now alot can change in 2 years. Hope you get some positive replies soon.

Sorry I had 32 years of regular cysts[about 3 ayear]all were aspirated never had a recall.Vx

As i mentioned ages ago my sister had a recall. She had two lumps. Biopsy’s done on both. She is still waiting for the results.
Are there any guidelines to say how long a patient can be kept waiting. It’s been 9 weeks since her visit to the GP to ask to get her lumps checked.

Nine weeks seems a very long time to wait since your sister’s visit to the GP. When did she have the biopsies done? I only waited about a week from mine to when I was given the results. Does she have an appt for the results, or are you still waiting for that too? I would ring the hospital and put some pressure on, or ask the GP to do it. Sometimes you need to “shout” a bit or you can easily get ignored.

She had the biopsy done nearly two weeks ago, she hasnt got an appointment yet for the results. Waiting on the post!!

My sister has finally got her appointment. She still has to wait until next Monday 27th, I don’t know about anybody else but I think that’s outrageous, how can they keep someone waiting for 10 weeks for a result (from first visit to GP)
Strange thing is that my sister doesn’t seem to care, her response is 'oh well’ It’s me that’s pulling my hair out and totally stressing. (Not in front of my sister cos if she wants to be an optimist then let her as it’s easier to cope).
