I don’t know if this is the forum to post this. Apologies if not.
I am "wig"shopping at the moment as starting chemo shortly and have just received an email from Hot Hair.
They have a 20% discount (online) on their products until midnight Monday 3rd December. This represents quite a good saving.
For example On a wig costing £72.00 the saving is as follows:
Subtotal: £72.00
Discount:£14.40
Discounted subtotal: £57.60
postage and packing is extra.
I have two hothair wigs and they are lovely…however, i got them with my NHS prescription and this reduced the cost significantly.
I ordered the Sandy cappucino which brought down the price from £185.00 to £57.00 via my pres.
It’s a good idea to collect your hospital prescription and see what your local service can offer in exchange.

Did you also ask for the sales to be zero rated for VAT?
If you lose your hair because of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, you are not required to pay VAT. A declaration needs to be made giving for reasons for being entitled to the exemption.
Thanks for that. Got my appointment to see onc on Wednesday. I expect I’ll get some more info then.
I had a look at your pictures on the BBC website, you look fab, and suited the different styles. Did you enjoy trying all of the wigs on?
Don’t know about the VAT.HBones; Binned the reciept I think, or put it in the chilli - ! I do know If I buy my own then I can reclaim back the VAT so maybe that was already done. ~Hope so, I hate to give them anything I don’t need to.
Thanks for the compliment Dyzee! Feeling rough as hell today after second FEC and neural ?.. words are going (!) injection quite sickly. It was good fun as my friend Jo (an intrepid reporter!) really gave me a lot of courage as this was my biggest fear. Getting to secretly like the shape of my head now though… I got the long brown one and a more sensible bob for out and about.
I had a WLE and SNB on 8th November. 1.8cm. 1 lymphnode involved out of 16 tested. Her negative. ER +.
I am seeing onc on Wednesday (5th) so I will find out when Chemo starts. followed by rads and who knows what!!!
I’m dreading chemo - scared sh*****s to be honest. Seeing your photo’s really helped as I don’t suit hats or scarves and was
worried about the whole wig thing.
Sorry to hear that you are feeling rough Nina, I hope you are soon felling better.
