Sending you all ??? x
Hi Daisy
I think it’s quite a relief to get the hair off once it starts to go…and it does get everywhere if you don’t, doesn’t it?! I finished FEC now, ( hoping my first T will be tomorrow, all being well) day 5 was bad for me, too, really hit a wall then.
When did you start, are you having FEC-T or something else?

Hi I am FEC-T got to have 7 then op then more chemo. This tells me the doc is only going to do a lumpectomy which I don’t want would sooner have the bloody thing off. I have got my second one Thursday, X X ???
Have you talked to your surgeon about your preferences? I think they tend to think that we all want to conserve our breast rather than have a mastectomy. They sometimes use chemo to shrink it first, so they can conserve the breast but I’d if doesn’t worry you, maybe phone your breast care nurse and discuss with her…she can see if the surgeon wanted to chemo fist for any other reason.
I had a lumpectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy and after the pathology of that had a MRI and ended up opting have have a mastectomy and node clearance. I am not considering reconstruction, I think I can do without it at 53 years old!
I would definitely consider contacting them, there may be other reasons they have decided on your treatment plan but it might be worth mentioning you don’t mind losing the breast!

Hi Sue,
So sorry to hear about your sister, it must have been a horrible time for you. I guess you must have the brca gene in your family, so they are erring on the cautious side, I suppose they will see what the chemo does before deciding for certain whether it will be a mastectomy or lumpectomy?
When are due FEC2? I didn’t really find FEC too difficult, and noticed no big difference between any of them. I had docetaxel (T) on Tuesday, and was fine for the first three days but have been a bit tired and achcy since then, I have felt it more than FEC but it’s manageable.
At what point are they planning to do your surgery?
