I’m waiting for my mammogram, US, and possible biopsy which is on Tuesday. Any tips on how to stop the worry?
LozzieG,
It is a natural to be worried however there are loads of other innocent causes of lumps and bumps and the majority of lumps/bumps aren’t cancer. You are doing totally the right thing getting checked out. Try not to worry too much since hopefully it won’t be cancer. If it is, there are loads of us who have been through it and are at various stages of treatment and recovery on this forum who can help with queries, advice and yelps for help or support.
Try to do something you enjoy that is comforting or distracting this weekend…and if you haven’t already told someone you feel comfortable telling do so, then you know someone knows…
Hope that helps, and hope the tests go as well as possible.

Please remember that all these tests are to rule things OUT, rather than rule things in. We are very lucky with the NHS who will check absolutely everything. 9 out of 10 people do NOT have cancer… that being said, if you get that diagnosis, you will get superb treatment, and there is lots of information and support in this forum. You will worry until you get your results, that’s absolutely normal, and then the treatment starts. It is pretty grim at times, your breast nurse will explain everything as many times as you want, but please take hope from people like me who have just finished my 5 years of treatment and I’m well, fit and happy looking forward to the next stage in my life. It IS do-able, and there are lots of us here who can offer support.
All the very best
