How unlucky can i get

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in july 22 and had a mastectomy with snlb in August 22, i then had chemo, a node clearance op and finally 3 weeks of radiotherapy which finished at the end of August 23. It was a lot but thought i coped well and fatigue was my main side effect . My problems seemed to start with the medication. Abemaciclib was stopping after 7 months as i was constantly getting infections and i was taken off letrozol due to severe joint pain.and put onto anastrozole. At this point in march 24 i was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and ended up in hospital. Life started to improve after that and although i still struggled abit with fatigue i felt generally well untill a few weeks ago when i started feeling and being sick ,dizziness and a little unsteady when walking. Now ive been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and had a shunt put in my head last Wednesday. I apologise for the long post but im so fed up at the moment, i just can’t seem to catch a break and worry about what can go wrong next . Has anyone else experience these issues or am i just really unlucky x

@tricia1919 I’m so sorry to hear of your health problems. I hope you are recovering well from your shunt operation. I’m sure everything feels impossible at the moment but you will get through this and you will be well again :hugs:

I haven’t had anything as serious as you but I have had a ‘how unlucky can I get’ moment of my own.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 months ago. As it involved a large lymph node I had chemotherapy first to shrink the node before surgery. Before starting chemo I had a chest, abdomen and pelvic CT scan. This revealed a fibroid so I was referred to a gynaecologist. He recommended a vaginal ultrasound once chemo was finished. This took place a few weeks ago and showed atypical endometrial hyperplasia and fluid in the uterus - I’m way past the menopause so neither should be there. Malignancy is unlikely but possible so they want to biopsy it within 2 weeks. The problem is I’m due to have my breast surgery in 2 weeks :see_no_evil: Negotiations are underway to do both operations on the same day - unlikely that this will happen.

I just find it astonishing that this is happening. I can’t believe it! I’m trying not to go down the what if I need a hysterectomy thought pathway :see_no_evil::see_no_evil:
