Hi,

I didn’t know anything about this, have you got a link to the study?

Thanks

hi helen this is the shortcut for the item in the telegraph there was a more detailed item in daily mail which i cant find link for but it was front page news yesterday. hope this helps though…http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/health/3067470/HRT-can-cut-risk-of-breat-cancer-for-at-risk-women.html xx

I’m a BRCA2 but I’ve also had a diagnosis of breast cancer (13 years ago initially) and I am estrogen receptive and I know that hrt wouldn’t have been advisable in my case.

Interesting to know though what comes out of it.

Hm, I’m BRCA1 and hormone +ve so cannot have HRT. If I’d gone through the menopause and been given HRT would I really have lowered by BC risk? Having the BRCA1 mutation gave me an 80% risk of developing BC anyway. Weird to think that HRT may have lowered my risk from 80% - isn’t it? If that IS actually the case …
