I have been told today i will need radiotherapy but HT not really necessary?
Originally was told i would have to take tablets for 5 years. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am assuming HT stands for Hormone Therapy. If so, did you ask for an explanation of the change in treatment? It may be that pathology results showed the cancer not to test positive for hormone receptors. If that is the case, then Hormone Therapy would not have any effect. It may also be the case that you have been assessed as not needing as the risks of HT may outweigh any possible benefits.
For your own piece of mind, I would just contact the Breast Care Nurse/Oncology/whoever is your point of contact and ask for an explanation of your individual circumstances.
