HUGE achievement during chemo!!

Hi all

I just wanted to share my achievement with you all - bit of background first for those who dont know me!

Dx with invasive ductal grade 3 aggressive aged 39 in July. Chose the route of chemo, then surgery, then radio. Had 5th out of 6 AC chemo Tuesday just passed (5 days ago).

Anyway, my friend and colleage at work organised a hill climb for breast cancer care as her way of ‘doing something’ . It was today and up a hill range in Scotland called Bennachie. They call it a hill - but me and about 25 others climbed to the top (all 1600 ft or so). I used to be fit but cannot believe I was able to achieve this during chemo and certainly this close to last 1. I sure climbed my own mountain today and am just chuffed with myself - it was pretty tough going at times but god I’m a stubborn bitch when I get going!!

Will probably not be able to do much tomorrow so will probably be on here loads

My best wishes to you all out there - stick in there because believe me there have been many days when I have hardly been able to climb the stairs!

Love to you all

Dont know how much we have raised yet cos theres cash at work from people who didnt even do it!!

Believe me I have not been near gym since all this started so today was massive - but as I said - I can be a stubborn bitch when I want to be - not saying I’ll be doin the same next weekend tho!!

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking too and we had fab weather so it all helped (last time I did that HILL was when I was a kid)

Hopefully it will give my mind a well needed boost !!

Even bumped into 1 of my chemo nurses on the way down - how spooky is that?

This just goes to show what you can achieve if you really want to. I ran the race for life after 4 FEC & 2 Tax - with 2 Tax still to go, and raised over £2,000. It really helped me to have a goal to aim for.

Congratulations to you Fiona

Thank you all for all your comments

I think it has certainly helped me get some much needed positivity into my head. I have no doubts there will be still lots of down times but will just need to think back to yesterday. Have been quietly thinking of my next goal - mind you - I am returning to work on a part time basis (paperwork only) on Thursday and Friday of this week - so thats a pretty major goal.

Thinking next year I might start running outside (have always hated it!!) but it would be another achievment and goal. Best still rest lots tho eh and not get too carried away?

Hugs and good wishes to you all
Fiona
