Hello
I recently asked you about using HOC post radiotherapy but I forgot to ask if they are also okay to use if you’ve had a total lymph node clearance. I had 16 removed in total
Thank you

Hello Irenko
Thank you for your further post.
As my colleague Grete mentioned, there is still much we do not know about hyperbaric oxygen therapy and how safe it is to use during or following breast cancer treatment. Although total lymph node clearance is not listed as a contraindication to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you would need to discuss your individual situation with the practitioner delivering the treatment to ensure it does not increase your risk of developing lymphoedema.
We would also suggest that you talk to your breast care nurse or treatment team, as it’s important they know about any complementary therapies you may like to use as some may affect the way other treatments work.
As mentioned in our previous post you can also call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions.
If you would prefer one of our nurses to call you. To do this, please complete this form ticking the box agreeing to a call back .
Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am - 1pm on Saturday.
Out of hours you can leave a message and we will call you back when we next open.
Best wishes
Angela
