Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy post Radiotherapy

Hello All

I discussed whether this treatment is okay to do post radiotherapy, to include lymph node clearance. I spoke to the nurses here along with my own breast nurses. The info received back from them was that there was no indications not to. I finished my radiotherapy yesterday and asked my oncologist her views - the answer was that hyperbaric oxygen therapy does not interfere with radiotherapy.
I’m going to try it tomorrow to see if it actually does help with healing - will keep you posted in case any of you have thought about it. xxxx

From a professional point of view I would be interested to know how it goes / if you think it’s helped and how. I wouldn’t need it for myself but as well as this forum I’m in 2 support groups and someone in one of those might be interested . Hope it helps you if you have it . Xx

Hi @JoanneN I can only go weekly but that works fine - will go every week for the next 4. Once I have completed the course please feel free to give me a shout - anything that can help us to recover is good to share xxxx

Hope you get some benefit from it xx

Hi! I’m curious if you went ahead with the HBOT treatment and felt any benefit from it as I am 1 month post RT and would like to try it out too. Would love to hear your experience

Hi @mpg
I really think that they helped. I didn’t get any of the skin damage that most get and my implant survived. I did get an infection in my implant which has since caused fibrosis but I’m still going for HBOT which seems to be keeping it at bay. If there’s one near you I’d give it a try xx
