Hi Capriati, u have no experience of it but am very interested in it. You dont say in what capacity you may need it…is it for lung mets or breathlessness or something? there was a lady on here, our lovely Marierose who sdaly passed away recently and she was having it for her Multiple Sclerosis rather than anything cancer related (i’m sre that was the case but if i’m wrong someone will put me right). I have an interest because when i had pleural affusions i had oxygen and i noticed my skin mets were healing better than before. I do still have some oxygen for an hour or so a day but am trying to get a compressor so i can have it more often. My team are a little reluctant though as too much oxygen can cause nasty effects i’m told. I have been told there are a few hospitals around the country who have hypabaric chambers but havent looked into it any further. If you do find any info please share it with us and likewise ill do the same. x
A friend of mine is having this in Hertfordshire to help with ME. She says it is helping, she has more energy. I can get more info if anyone wants it?
Hi, I’m about to start having sessions. I was referred to an integrated oncology service via my nutritionist. They have developed an intensive support programme for me which includes three sessions a week of this therapy. There are centres around the country primarily set up as a charity to help MS sufferers. Because my mets are also in my bone marrow I suffer from lack of oxygen. There are many studies going on at the moment but primarily it helps the treatments ( both alternative and chemo) to enter the bones and be more effective as hypoxia cancer cells do not respond well to treatments of any kind. I just googled it and found one local to me. It usually costs about £30 a session.
That makes sense Babsy as they find excercise helps…must bring more oxygen to the tissues
