Just wanted to reach out as I live alone also and worked full time.
In terms of living alone, I called my local council they are helping with some aids and adaptation around the home. This is very helpful to me and might be useful. It also means you are working social services which gives you extra support. I felt down too and this helped.
Have you looked at benefits? Apply for PIP etc. This may enable sometime off work. Also on look at ESA and UC. Itās a mountain to climb I know.
For encouragement, take a look on here but also on Substack I follow a load of people with chronic stage 4. They are in treatment and living.
I know itās hard. My life was pretty crap before this but Iāve decided to carve out a vision of a new life. Iām wondering if there are some things, or just one thing, that could be your motivator to get you through.
Oh my love, I know itās so hard. Iām three years nine months down the secondary breast cancer journey and facing new treatments at the moment. Thereās been times when Iāve wondered the same. Please seek out all the help you can get - and be gentle and kind to yourself. And keep posting and let us know how you are - weāre all thinking of you.
You are already amazing . I remember you awhile back from this chat forum. You have handled this all on your own and still working . Your toughness will help you get to the finish line. I see where others here have reached out to you .. I care ! They care . Please let us help you . Praying for you and everyone on this forum .
Please stay with someone you trust and tell them directly that youāre struggling. If youāre in immediate danger, contact emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. You donāt have to handle this alone.
I am so sorry. Please seek help : you are not alone although there are many of us. Itās so unbelievably hard some days for people to bear. Please reach out for support.
I am so sorry to hear you feel this way. Please keep in touch. This is a safe space and people here want to support you and care about you. When you are ready please update the thread so we know how you are
Iām so sorry youāre carrying this much right now. A cancer diagnosis is exhausting in ways that are hard to put into words, and it makes sense that some days feel unbearable. I just want to gently ask ā when you say you need this to be over, are you doing okay, or is it more than just this treatment being hard? If things feel really dark, please reach out to someone today, a friend, your care team, a nurse navigator, or a crisis line (988 in the US, or your local equivalent). Youāve already been through so much, and you shouldnāt have to sit with this alone.
Thank you. I can no longer walk - have been in hospital for days, onc sent me to a&e so has been utter hell there & so many drugs. Ended up on a general ward with all sorts - very poor decison making & i continue to feel uncared for and supported. X
Iām so glad you have posted again. I was thinking of you, as Iām sure others are too. It sounds like you are having a horrific time, I am so sorry.
We are all here, of course, please vent, scream and shout, we will listen. Also, since you now in hospital (or have you left now?) it really might be worth speaking to the BCN nurses, as they maybe they could help you in terms of practical advice. They have been so helpful to me in the past.
I was thinking in future people need the following if & where possible:
- appointment advocate
- chemo carer
- surgery supporter
- radiotherapy rallies
- blocker buddy
Like a team for each bit to stay connected and together - 11months of treatment is just too much to stay on top of for one person and a small family, the ball will be dropped somewhere.
Iām so sorry @sbee . Sending love to you for whatever itās worth - not the same as a proper conversation or a real hug I know . . Your post has moved me to tears - Iām thinking of you xx
Donāt apologise for moving any of us to any kind of emotion. I am angry that this is happening to you and so very, very sad for you. And youāre not to feel any guilt for that.
We are all feeling these things for you because we care as you are our BC sister.
Am i right in thinking you are on the south coast?
