My cancer has spread and i hate myself. I live alone, have done all this alone, worked full time, have had mental struggles beyond belief. I don’t want to live like this.

@sbee I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to leave you without a reply … please keep talking if you can . I’m in a different situation but the feelings are still the same . I’ve gone from a confident person happy to be on her own to someone who fears sitting alone . Of course I can’t tell my close ones that otherwise they would feel like they can’t carry on with their lives and have to babysit me … I also fall asleep at night at then wake up in the morning and remember I’m look and feel different. I’m so sorry sbee and am sending you a virtual hug xx

Hi @sbee

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re struggling, it sounds as though you’re going through a lot right now.

If you need to speak to someone, you can contact Macmillan Support Line or Samaritans, which are both open over the bank holiday weekend. And if you feel like you are in a crisis or that it’s an emergency, please ring 999.

Take care of yourself, and know we’re here for you should you want to talk. Our helpline reopens on Tuesday at 9am, you can call us on 0808 800 6000.

And please do let us know how you’re doing.

All the best :pink_heart:

I’m sorry to hear you feel like that. In fact I have felt exactly the same a few months ago and said those exact words. I’m

In a very similar situation to you though I don’t live alone. I want you to know that it can get easier with help from gp and or other places. Maggie’s centre was very much a place to feel supported and I hope that you have one near you. Sending you virtual hugs xx

sbee. I’m really sorry to be reading this. We all all deal with this as individuals but I have found this site such a support, able to rant and weep in any measure needed. Please keep chatting. We all walk this path , all-be-it in different ways. Gentle hugs coming your way :hugs: Dianne

Sending love.

I know you’ve had a really hard path to follow and your family aren’t supportive. I can totally understand why you’ve lost faith in your hospital team too.

Try reaching out to a cancer charity instead. I think you said you were London based so try to get to a Maggie’s centre if you can. They will understand and be able to offer expert help and guidance https://www.maggies.org/

Please call or drop in to a Maggies centre or call Breast Cancer Now. They are both extremely helpful and supportive. I phoned both at diagnosis and felt so much better.

Hi @sbee this is the first time I have posted on this site, but felt I had to as you sound so low and desperate.

Whilst we might not have exactly the same cancers, mine too has spread so I have some idea of how you must be feeling. It might help if you felt able to talk in more detail about where you are actually at with your treatment. It won’t change the situation, but can help emotionally to share your experience. If you don’t feel able to do this, please do call one of the helplines, or Samaritans. I was a Samaritan up until recently so I know, first hand, how much just talking helps people. Samaritans don’t try to “fix” or “solution” a problem they are just there so you can talk.

Please keep talking if you can.

I am so very sorry to hear how hard it is for you right now. I feel you have done the first and most difficult step: to say you are struggling. There can be so much pressure to be upbeat and positive, so I commend you for acknowledging how you truly feel. The second step is where can I get help, from people who understand and care. And hopefully you have read all the helpful posts here about just where all that help can come from. Be your own very best friend and take that second step.

Thinking of you

When I was told my cancer had returned I felt like this too

I am MTNBC and I spent the next few months preparing to die - getting rid of possessions writing a will .

Thinking about death and how it would be

I was overwhelmed

One year on I’m doing well on chemo and immuno !

Liver tumours have shrunk, spleen now clear ,lymph nodes back to normal

It’s relentless treatment of course ,three weeks out of four it’s IV infusions but I’m ok

Tired ,can’t do what I want to do on some days small price to pay

However I’m able to forget I have cancer and I live day at a time not worrying about the future

I hope that soon you will be on successful treatment too

Hi

I hear you. I often feel like this too. I don’t tell those close to me how much of a struggle this is so they don’t worry. I also live alone and being on your own with your thoughts can send you spiralling. Like others have said, reach out and talk to someone it does feel better. You are not alone with this, take care :two_hearts:
