I like to go to hosp alone

I always scribble down in my notebook when they are saying stuff at consultations, so I know its what was actually said and not my interpretation half an hour later! My Dad came to my first onc consult (Dad is retired surgeon) and we nearly came to blows when recounting the meeting to the family, except that I was able to say, “here is where I wrote it down as he was saying it”!!!

Hi, ladies

Hubby came with me at the outset, was with me at dx, first few onc appointments, and first 6 chemotherapies. I don’t think he’s ever asked any questions. Since then, I’ve mainly been on my own, which is how I like it. I know it’s tiring for someone else just sitting around but, like Walton, I always have a book with me, and usually a flask of coffee. I just build it all into the day. Got nothing else to do.

I just admire so much the young mums on here. Don’t know what I’d have done if I’d have got this disease when my sons were young. What causes it in younger women?? I don’t remember any young women having cancer when I was young, it was only ever older women. Or maybe I just had my head in the sand.

Anyway, good luck to us all.

Hi girls,
I was on my own when I was diagnosed and for all my Chemo treatments. The only time I’ve taken someone with me is when I’ve gone for test results in case I forget what I’ve been told.
