I’m having Nightmares ?

Nightmares

Hi, I’m 13 weeks post mastectomy and DIEP Reconstruction surgery, and I’ve started having really vivid dreams, well I guess I’d call them nightmares, some of surgery and all pretty horrific, in the dream my body looks really disfigured and really botched up, or ones where I’m lost and can’t find my way back, although the place I’m lost is very Familia,  I wake up crying every time…… it’s really affecting my days, stopping me wanting to go to sleep and I feel so low. I have had some major healing issues, resulting in 2 additional surgery’s to re suture my tummy wound, but I am doing ok now and healing up nicely, but these nightmares are just horrible. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks ?

Dear Lanzigirl,

My heart goes out to you. I was in a very similar position myself after my surgery. I promise you it will get better soon but everything takes time. Just be kind to yourself with lots of TLC. Maybe some Camelot tea or something restful before bed I wish I could take your pain away, but I promise you as I said it will get better. I always say one day at a time.

Wishing you well, going forward, keep posting and sharing we are all here for you. This is a wonderful site with lovely ladies who look out for each other.

biggest hugs brave lady.  Tili :rainbow:
