I’m back home after five days in Bart’s. Op was “textbook” and they removed what has been confirmed as a Mediastinal mass. I won’t know anymore than that for 3-4 weeks, I’ve got some amazing bruising I could show you, I’m such a delicate peach . Also it’s very painful especially if I cough, yawn, hiccup, burp or pass wind (you really didn’t need to know the last one) and I’m sleeping a lot and not eating but that will all sort itself out over the next few days. It was a lot easier than I expected, a massive thank you to all at Bart’s, fantastic caring people. Now time to relax and get myself ready for a lovely Christmas with my family.

Ah @nannabee I have been wondering when we’d hear from you, thank you for updating us when so much of your time is being spent trying not to pass wind . Hurrah for Bart’s doing a good job. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family, let them fuss over you and keep your spirits up, there will be time enough to think about other things in four weeks time. Might be wise to avoid the sprouts at Christmas dinner this year. Big hugs lovely lady!

Thank you all for the lovely messages, they have all made me feel so much better. Recovery is proving so much slower than I’d expected, still in quite a bit of pain and now they think one of the wounds is infected. This twit didn’t think it was a very big op, four little holes and a lot of bruising but now been told it’s major surgery and I’m expecting too much. Doing a lot of sleeping and not really much else. Surgeon is phoning me on the 7th with the results etc but for now I’m just looking forward to a happy and peaceful Christmas with my kids and grandkids.
I hope you all can have a happy and peaceful Christmas too, and together we will give cancer a big kick up the butt in 2025. Always here for one and another, always have everybody’s back and always here to listen and support. Together we are a mighty force. Love to you all xxxxx
nannabee sending big hope your wound settles soon, do go to a&E if you don’t feel right though and keep eye on your temperature rest up and be gentle with yourself and enjoy your time over Christmas and new year with family Shi xx
