I had a mammo and ultrasound last Wednesday and was told they had seen calcium specks and changes from a mammogram I had a year ago. A very different experience this time as I have been called back next Friday (13th) for possible biopsy. The doc at the breast clinic wanted to take my results to a team before he decided what to do.
My question is, I have read that most biopsy is done at the time their is suspicion. Why do you think they did not do the biopsy straight away? Is it that they are not sure I need one or that they don’t know what type of biopsy to do? Confused.

Here’s a link to the BCC ‘Worried about breast cancer’ information page which you may find helpful:
The first thing to remember is that the medics want to do lots of tests, so they can rule things OUT, and then give the correct treatment. There are lots of boob-type things that can occur, so they need to establish what you need.
I took a notebook to each appt and made notes, which I then added to in the car park before I went home. I would read my notes at home then rang the clinic with questions the following day. I did it this way because I told no-one about my BC until I had all the surgery and could say all the nasty bits had been removed
That worked for me, and nearly 4 years on I am well and enjoying life.
