I think I'm losing my mind a little bit

Hey all!

I’m 33 and a week and a half before my period my breasts became SUPER sensitive. Heavy, painful to touch…you know the drill…anyway this is normal I know and I also know that my breasts are a bit lumpy to begin with after breastfeeding three kids.

However my period is almost over and my left breast and armpit feel swollen and achy still. Also my armpit feels slightly more “plump” compared to my other armpit. My neck, shoulders and left arm is super stiff and im starting to fear something bad is going on. I can definitely feel more fatty tissue in my left armpit than my right one but no lump…my breast feel lumpy and achy although A LOT better than last week. My youngest is almost two and I keep carrying him on my left side with just one arm and I guess he’s getting heavy. I’ve also been super stressed this last month and not sure if the stress might be causing some of this. I discovered a round and movable and smooth lymphnode at the base of my hairline. Not too worried as I have one on my neck that doesent go away. I had an ultrasound done on this node a year and a half ago and it was nothing. Although I stressed myself into a bad case of shingles because I was convinced I had lymphoma…

No breastcancer in my family but I’m really scared to book an appointment for an ultrasound (they don’t recommend mammograms at my age where I live). I’m scared they’ll find something bad:( I know it’s stupid and I probably should go. The statistics on bc is insane and has me thinking “are there women that actually don’t get bc???”

Also, can the fact that I’m constantly pressing and pushin my fingers in and touching my armpit and breast make the pain consistent and not go away?

hi hal,
yes, this anxiety us horrible, but the only way to resolve it is to get it checked out & constantly feeling the area would not help the discomfort. Please get it sorted, mostly it all turns out to be well.
take care

the best thing to do hunni is go to docs im sure u have nothing to worry about you could even have an infection and thats why you have pain and swelling and may need antibiotics. sending hugs xxxx

Thank you so much for your replies ladies! I’m definitely going to doc and getting an us referral. My left breast looks different than my right, a bit plumper and round on the side. I know they haven’t been identical. Not sure if they’ve always looked like this (hubby thinks so). Also my right nipple has some really thick milky-white discharge that I can at times press out. This has been going on for a while and doesent really scare me but I think I’ll have a hormonal bloodtest as well…ugh…these breasts…
