ibc and lung mets

hi ladies,
is there anybody that ibc and have lung mets just been dx today starting chemo tomorow and back on hereceptin.

I’m so sorry to read this news :frowning: you must be devastated to say the least. are you having any lung symptoms? What chemo are you having? I’m surprised they are giving you herceptin after the heart probs yu have had? Have u asked about alternative her2 treatments like tykerb (lapatnib)? I was really surprised they never got you straight on that when the herceptin was stopped if I’m honest. Defo ask the question as her2 secondaries can be well controlled often. Have you thought about a 2nd opinion at all? I would recommend it. Pm me if you want any advice.

Hi Lollypop, I have IBC and Lung mets.
I had 6 tax/carboplatin/herceptin chemos, now on herceptin and letrozole. I am NED at the moment, I am 1 year since initial Dx of primary and Lung mets.

hi gingerbud,
i think the reason why thy did not put me in tykerb was because i was ned at the time, but now my hearst rate is fine, but they are closely monitoring me, if it happens again, they will switch me to tykerb, anyway hoping you are coping with the brain mets, and you responce to treatment, you have bee havig alot of back luck lately tina, hope you get some good news very soon takecare.

how you doing, its just a question, i am trying to get insurance to go on holiday for my mastatic breast cancer to the lungs, i a still in treatment with chemo plus herceptin, but the companys i have phoned so far wont insre me while i am still having chemo, do you know any that do.

Have you tried Pink insurance? I have not yet myself, but have heard from someone else that they are specialising for BC patients.
