Think I posted in the wrong place so I’ll try again.
Diagnosed in March 2009 with ibc left breast, 2 nodes involved and possible liver met. had chemo, mestectomy and rads. In remission, had ld recon Nov 2010, lipo fill and uplift/reduction on right breast to match. Just about to have last lipo fill and new nipple when wham! routine CT scan shows up slightly bulky head on pancreas. Had EUS/biopsy and have had confirmed today (thought it would be), small tumor on pancreas. Have been on herceptin since diagnosis. Am staying on herceptin with no other treatment for the time being and having another scan in a month. Apparently this is quite rare to have mets to the pancreas, has anyone else any experience of this or advice please. I’m glad I’ve got this confirmed and can get on and sort it. Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thanks xxxx
Hello Fudgeincornwall
I have a tumor in my stomach actually blocking the exit. They told me the pancreas was also involved so I guess we are in a similar boat. I was diagnosed in 2007 with lobular and had the full treatment and was put on Femara. This Spring it all went wrong and I had to have an op to relieve the blockage - they said they could not remove the tumor because of the pancreas involvement. This all took ages and I finally got back to breast peoople/oncology and was changed to Aromasin which did no good whatsoever. Now I am on 18 weeks of Taxol. Can’t really tell how it’s going - scan after 9 weeks - fingers crossed.
I thought it was uncommon for BC to go there but have since found out that Lobular quite commonly affects the abdomen. A pity nobody tells you that then you might be on the lookout.
Good luck with your treatment

Hi Sarcath
Thanks for your reply. Yes I do wonder if they tell you all possible scenarios - maybe they do but there is so much to take in when we are first diagnosed and then its never repeated unless neccessary! I’m happy with treatment etc. I’ve had so far so shouldn’t complain! My scan was 16th August - EUS/biopsy 23rd Sept. and results yesterday - was given next weds 2nd Nov originally - so no urgency on their part then! I take that as a good sign! I’ve had no symtoms at all and feel fitter than before I was diagnosed. I did have a feeling that the scan was going to show up something this time, don’t know why! I’ve another scan in a month to see if it’s grown - if not I think it’l be left alone for another few months. I’m happy on herceptin so hopefully it’l keep it stable. I hope the taxol works for you and you are not having to many side effects. Good luck with the scan.
Lovely day here so I’m off to walk in the local country park thats about 5minutes away from me. Hope the sun is shinning where you are.
Actually I know I was never told where BC might spread and - this is gripe of mine - there is precious little about lobular on this site. if you look at what they have leaflets for it’s brain, bone lung and liver treatments - not a mention of the other scenarios. I think you have been lucky that yours was picked up so quickly and I wish you all the best with your treatment.
