I was diagnosed with IDC Grade 3. I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal. The tumour (22mm) had clear margins which was great. One of the 2 sentinel lymph nodes came back positive for cells. I now have a second op booked for a lymph node removal to check if there are any cells that have spread. Whilst I am not particular worried about the op I am dreading the waiting for the results. I know we are all very different and each person results determine further treatment. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Hi Cuffcake
I was in a similar position a couple of months ago I had one positive sentinel node and had to then have axillary clearance surgery. I was very anxious waiting for the results with many sleepless nights but they took 30 lymph nodes and all were clear which I now know to often be the case. It is almost impossible not to worry waiting for results as we are only human but i just wanted to share my experience with you. Good luck with everything.
