Hi, I am 66 years old and was diagnosed in the beginning of February with IDC with lobular features in my left breast it’s ER-positive and PR-positive HER2- negative. What they can see is under 2 cm.
I am on my 3rd breast surgeon, I have a pacemaker and waited over a month to find out I couldn’t have an MRI, because pacemaker isn’t compatible. The 3rd doctor at KU, got that information in less than a week by contacting the company that makes the pacemaker.
I went to the appt with the new surgeon, I also did new mamos and ultrasound, they found micro calcifications in my right breast, having a biopsy on that this Tuesday.
I am so upset that I have wasted 6 weeks and still don’t have a definite answer or surgery date.
I wanted to do a lump and IORT radiation and now who knows what I may have to do.
I would advise everyone to have at least a second opinion and if your not satisfied keep getting opinions, if I hadn’t gone to the 3rd doctor I wouldn’t know there may be a problem in my right breast.
Hi Suzz , sorry you haven’t had a response .Sounds like a very frustrating time ,I hope you are now making progress with your treatment .Please let us know how you get on . Jill x
Dear suzzflwr
i am sorry to hear that you have had such a stressful time trying to get treatment. Do hope that you are now back on track with a good surgeon . You are so right that we need to advocate for ourselves . If we think our needs are not being met we can seek another opinion. It’s not easy to seek that out always at a time you feel very vulnerable.
Anyway I just wanted to say that I am thinking of you and wishing you well. Please do come back on here and let us know how you get on. Really hope that you get some news of your likely treatment plan soon. Waiting around is one of the hardest things.
all the best
Giselle
