If you have a benign result, is that you will be told the result on phone call?

Hi all, I just read some old posts and found that some of you waiting for result, when they received the call from the nurse, they were told benign on the phone? Is that most of the clinic do that?

So can I assume if I didn’t hear the nurse say I have benign result, that means most probably I would get some unwanted results? :pensive:

@louisa2 I hope you ok, I haven’t heard of anyone getting good or bad results by telephone, however different hospitals work in different ways.

I think if your worrying, please call your breast cancer team at the hospital your under to clarify what’s stage your at.

Wishing you well, with health and happiness ahead.

Hi @louisa2
Sorry you’re in the waiting game at the moment. Every NHS trust works differently, I’ve had both good and bad news over the phone as well as in person, so there’s no rhyme or reason I’m afraid, I know it makes waiting really difficult

Hi,
I was told I would get the results in person regardless of whether they were good or bad, as this was policy at the time (and I assume still is). I’m in West Sussex.
As others have said, there is certainly no harm in calling to ask the question.
Fingers crossed for you x

I had both benign and cancerous over the phone but i was asked at the time of my biopsies if i wanted that or if i wanted to go back to the breast cancer nurse, i was ok with a phone call but everyone is different and they always give you a choice, well i would like to think they do x
