Hello everyone,
I would be very pleased to hear from any lady who has had an Implantable Loop Recorder in her breast (measures heart rhythm).
I am due to have this surgery next week but feel anxious as to how it really looks i.e. is it very obvious?
The hospital has given me lots of information about procedure etc., but they do not have any pictures of how it may look on a breast cancer patient (which has already gone through a lot!)
Thank you for your interest.

Welcome to the forum . I’m sorry you haven’t had a reply yet , hopefully there is someone on the forum who has had experience of this . Good luck with your op next week . Jill
Hello Jill1998,
Many thanks and just to let all know that I had the implant. However, if I had to do it again I would definitely go for general anaesthetic as the local anaesthetic was still very painful - maybe because they had to try about 7 times to push it in, following attempts by 2 Specialists and finally a Consultant was called - he said it was probably the fibrous tissue that was stopping the implant from going in smoothly. It was quite traumatic I have to say …!
It is in the top half of my left breast and still a bit sore at the entry point. Hoping this will heal in due course.
I am using my mobile to record my heart rhythm - although I understand you need to be near the mobile for 3 hours for it to sufficiently record.
I am sure it was worth it all though and hope my experience is of interest to those who have to have the same surgical procedure.
I have taken a photo too of the area to see how it heals…
